Let's Build a Better World!

Let's Build a Better World!

The world already has enough pain and suffering. You can see it everywhere on the news and you may even feel it right now. We don’t need to bring more negativity into the world than there has to be.

I have a crazy idea. It sounds cliche and a little cheesy, but in today’s world, it definitely is crazy: let’s work to build a better world.

It’s up to each of us. Jennifer Ka, writer and performance artist, wrote in the Huffington Post that “The only way to build a better world is to create the world you want to live in with your thoughts, actions and way of living. Be your own role model and be your own healer because the truth is you never had control of anything outside of you, but you have control over what you do now, right now at this moment.”

Let’s not accept the world that we’ve been given, but work towards what the world can be. We can make the air more breathable, make our cities and towns safer, and make our children’s futures brighter. You may have far-fetched dreams, but if it’s worth it, it’s worth working towards. If we all individually work towards building a better world, then we will make the world a better place.

Let’s do it for each other, future generations, and ourselves. Let’s make today just a little better than yesterday.

There are so many ways to make this world better, but the most important step is arguably the first step. You need to decide whether or not you are going to make this world better or worse from now on. Hopefully you pick the former, and forget the possibility of the latter.
