We’re All Going Down the Same River

If you feel lost or alone, I want you to know that you’re not the only one who has ever felt that way. We’ve all felt that way at some time or another. If you feel that way right now, I want you to know, you are definitely not alone.

Life is a crazy, wonderful, complex, and beautiful journey. If it was a river, it would be filled with rapids, twists, turns, rocks, wildlife, and a whole bunch of other things. There would be some of us who are good at navigating through the currents, and some of us that are still figuring out how to swim, row, or tread water.

If people claim that they have life all figured out, then they’re either lying or ignorant. Life is constantly changing over time. People who are successful may know a lot of things, but they don’t know everything. They may have a specific skill set or be born with certain privileges, but even they still have to figure out how to navigate down the river.

This is your life. Your life is your own; no one else can live it except for you. Even though we’re the same river, you are always the captain of your ship.
