How Taking Action Affects Your Happiness

Life rewards action. Taking action gets your closer to your goals and dreams. Taking action gets things done. Everything that you have accomplished in your life happened because you put time, effort, focus, and practice into your goals. You are where you are in life because of the actions that you have taken (and all the actions you haven't taken).

Of course, not every single piece of action you took may have had your desired outcome. Try not to think of those times as "failures," but times that you learned a good life lesson. Other people frame them as "learning opportunities." Even if some of your actions don't take you where you want to be, it's always important to try.

You've probably heard the Wayne Gretzky quote, "You miss 100% of the shots you don't take." There is a lot of truth in that. Even champion hockey players don't make 100% of their shots, but they need to take action and try to make those goals in order to actually score.

In romance and relationships, taking the initiative to talk to someone and start a relationship will get you closer to being in a relationship than not taking any action.

Being happy is a luxury that people are fortunate to have. Attaining your goals, having your health, earning enough wealth for a comfortable lifestyle, and having meaningful relationships are all factors that affect your happiness. Moving towards a life that you're extraordinarily proud of is worth taking action for.
